The Solution to Growing Transportation Demand
While Utah continues to experience unprecedented growth, that growth comes with more than a few growing pains and challenges. To address some of the transportation difficulties, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) developed TravelWise in November 2008. Put simply, TravelWise is a set of actions that encourage Utahns to use alternatives to driving alone. By asking individuals, businesses, communities and organizations to TravelWise, we can reduce energy consumption, optimize mobility and improve air quality, ultimately improving the quality of life in Utah.
And we aren’t alone. Other states have implemented programs similar to TravelWise. Here’s a list of similar programs taking place in other states:
